This standalone course offers comprehensive training in a naturopathic approach to diet and nutrition and a meticulous study of Eastern nutrition and how it links in with Western nutritional approaches. The course is fully accredited with the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP) as a Nutritional Therapist and also with the Society of Naturopaths (SoN) as an Associate Naturopath.
All the Eastern medical traditions, such as Unani Tibb, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine and Tibetan medicine, have always had diet as their central pivotal point. I have written this course with the aim to combine the wisdom of these ancient disciplines with the knowledge and essential components of Western Nutrition and Naturopathic approaches to practice. The course covers the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Nutritional Therapy as laid down in 2003.
The course is totally unique and is taught over 2 years. The course was originally written for Unani Tibb students to run alongside their training, but also acts as a standalone course in its own right. Successful students will be awarded the ‘Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and Eastern Nutrition’ and be able to register with the Society of Naturopaths as an Associate Naturopath and the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP) as a Nutritional Therapist. The course is not limited to Unani Tibb students but can be undertaken by anyone interested in this unique approach to nutrition.
The course is divided into three areas of study, that of Western Nutrition, Naturopathic Nutrition and Eastern Nutrition. The Eastern section includes a detailed study of Unani approaches to diet and an overview of Ayurveda, Chinese and Tibetan approaches to dietary therapy. Study of both eastern and western nutritional approaches will give successful students a unique advantage when preparing diet and lifestyle programmes for their clients.
Students are assessed via clinical events, assessment questions, essays, case studies, live case studies and end of year examinations.
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive training in nutritional therapy to students of Unani Tibb which incorporates the NOS for Nutritional Therapy, a detailed understanding about the naturopathic approach to diet and nutrition and a meticulous study of Eastern nutrition and how it links in with Western nutritional approaches.
This unique, quite possibly one-off course provides an in-depth exploration into food intolerances, sensitivities and allergies.
Learn the basics of Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy which you can use alongside another discipline such as homeopathy, shiatsu or reflexology.
This fully accredited Nutritional Therapy correspondence course is extremely flexible, allowing students to work at their own pace in the comfort of their home. It covers all of the core elements for Nutritional Therapy as laid down by the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Nutritional Therapy and is wholly naturopathic in its approach. It consists of 8 units with the option to continue study with the Advanced Nutritional Therapy course (units 9-12).
The Advanced Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy course (units 9-12) approaches each subject naturopathically and then relates it to our current understanding of western scientific research. The course includes all of the core elements of Nutritional Therapy as laid down by the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Nutritional Therapy.
This unique course offers a detailed study of Eastern medicine, homeopathic and naturopathic philosophy; iridology, hydrotherapy, homotoxicology, psychology, psychosocial skills and oral health. To my knowledge it is the only course that provides an exploration of all four Eastern disciplines: Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, Tibetan medicine and Unani (Persian/Greek) medicine.
